Should it be possible to connect to CDWserver without an account?
Use PAM for user authentication. Edit /etc/pam.d/cdwserver to configure the details.
The default is that everybody with a valid eMail address can create an account. By setting managedAccounts only the administrator can create new accounts by using the commands "CDWuseradd" and "CDWpasswd".
Show the users on the status page
To protect the connections to the server use the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL v2/v3) or Transport Layer Security (TLS v1) protocols.
